Today Citrix finally released Citrix XenDesktop 7 together with Provisioning Services 7, Profile Manager 5, Citrix Receiver 4, StoreFront 2 and more.
I’ve been playing with Citrix XenDesktop 7 in the lab for quite some time + a lot of hands-on time with the latest build at Citrix Synergy.
More than 15.000 people have gone through my free Citrix XenApp Training which was based upon Citrix XenApp 6 for Windows 2008.
So needless to say, it’s time for some new awesome training. Say goodbye to Reverse Imaging and all the hassle with updating Provisioning Services Target Device Software and XenServer / VMware / Hyper-V tools.
This Citrix XenDesktop 7 Boot Camp isn’t a 15 minute video on YouTube showing you how to click next – next – finish. This free Boot Camp will show you how it’s done in the real world.
It’s based upon more than 13 years of Real World Experience, content from numerous books by the Deployment MVP Guru Johan Arwidmark, CTP Aaron Parker’s Gold Image automation framework, Geek Speak Presentations and Citrix’s own hands on lab training.
This is some of the content I will go through :
- Automated Golden Image Creation with MDT 2012
- Windows 2008R2 / 8 / 2012 Deployments
- Citrix Provisioning Services 7.0 Integration
- XenDesktop 7 Installation & Configuration
- XenDesktop 7 with Citrix XenApp 6.5 Feature Pack 2
- Microsoft App-V 5 Integration & Best Practices

Looking forward to this series, Your last series helped be pass my A18 exam for Xenapp 6.
Rely like the elimination of Reverse Imaging, even if I have not worked with it in a production environment it must have been a hassle to keep the golden images up to date if you had a handful.
Thanks Fredrik. Congrats on the exam. The video should be released very soon now.
I am curious on the Citrix XenDesktop 7 Boot Camp do you only get access to the resource files if you are a member? I would like to follow along but I’m not sure where to obtain the resource files.
That’s correct, the resource files are only available for members : https://www.xenappblog.com/xt
