Citrix VDA for macOS, supports Apple Silicon, enhancing remote access with HDX technology for developers and designers. It optimizes performance, security, and management on macOS, integrating with Citrix DaaS/CVAD, supporting cloud deployments, and requiring .NET Runtime 8.0 for operation.
At my recent vacation to Orlando I picked up a brand new macOS (2024) with 16GB of RAM for $599. This will be a perfect lab device for Citrix DaaS and Microsoft Intune Enrollment.
To get started, head over to Citrix DaaS and create an new Machine Catalog for macOS.
Click Manage Enrollment Tokens.
Click Generate. I recommend selecting use current time and date for start to prevent waiting for token to be valid.
Copy and save the Enrollment Token.
Download and install .NET Runtime for macOS 8.0 for Arm64.
Download Citrix VDA for macOS 2411. Once completed click the DMG file to start the installation.
Now set the app permissions and paste in the enrollment token.
At the end the result should be all green checkmarks as shown below.
I would recommend setting the other tabs for Webcam, Single Sign On and Optimization.
Open Energy settings and set Prevent Automatic Sleeping when the display is off.
You should now be able to see the Citrix VDA for macOS registered.
The final step would be to create a Delivery Group and assign the permissions.
Since we are not connecting via a Citrix Cloud Connector, Rendezvous needs to be enabled via policy as explained here.
