Hardware for Sale

My Portable Data Center is up for renewal so I’ve got quit some hardware for sale. The hardware is awesome, but is limited to 32 GB of memory and 1 GbE.

That’s the de facto standard for entry level lab hardware priced at around $1000. I’ve been using that for my Master Class all over the world with great success, but are now stepping up the game thanks to my sponsors.

The plan is to create a new 4 Node Nutanix Cluster with Supermicro E200-8D in a 4U Portable Rack roughly estimated at $8000 using existing hardware from two of my old SuperServer 5028D-TN4T servers.

I’m planning on doing some Christmas shopping during our family trip to Orlando in December which means a detailed blog post on Portable Data Center 2.0 should go live in January 2019.

  1. Orlando in December?? You do know that the Disney World marathon weekend 2018-01-13. There’s a 5K on Thur, 10K on Fri, half marathon on Sat and a full marathon on Sunday. We head to Orlando for this weekend each and do all four runs. Lots of Brazilian come up for the weekend also.

    • Hi James, didn’t know that, glad we go first week of December then, less people hopefully 🙂 So you definitely enough running. I used to fly via Sao Paulo, but now there’s a direct flight cutting the time from 22 to 7.5 hours. The prices are also very good around $350 to Orlando / Miami. Let me know when you come to Fortaleza, I’ve got a couple of apartments on Airbnb for rental .-)
