0810 ControlUp – What’s new in ControlUp 7.1 and ControlUp Insights

ControlUp is known for VDI performance monitoring, quick and effective contextual problem remediation, user experience optimization and interactive reporting with global benchmarking.  With Controlup 7.1 we’ve doubled down on this promise and added tons of metrics, use cases and improvements for every VDI admin. Yoni Avital, ControlUp CTO and co-founder will show you an exclusive live demo of new ControlUp v7.1 and ControlUp Insights exciting features and capabilities:

// Wealth of new Published Applications Metrics, showing the actual usage of the specific site’s published applications, stats on instances each application runs and much more

// Integrated NetScaler Monitoring, where you can now monitor and manage your  NetScalers in the ControlUp Console in context of your entire infrastructure

// Detailed real-time native NVIDIA vGPU Monitoring at the VM and process levels

// Innovative Assisted Troubleshooting that takes fast troubleshooting to a whole new level

// Brand new Sizing Recommendation report

0830 Dave Brett – NetScaler Authentication using nFactor

NetScaler nFactor is a hugely powerful authentication mechanism that Citrix NetScaler offers but is often overlooked when planning or migrating your existing NetScaler authentication definition to one that will support multiple use cases. In this session we will look at how nFactor works, what you will need to implement it and how to migrate your existing authentication platform over to nFactor to give you the flexibility to on-board additional authentication method without impacting your end users. I will try to give as many configuration examples as possible as well as provide real world use cases showing you how you can implement this in your businesses and of course some “working” demo’s of nFactor in action.

0915 Break

0925 FSLogix – How FSLogix can help you better manage your virtual desktops and applications

Do corrupt profiles, long logon times, multiple “gold” images, application server silos, or reduced application functionality ring a bell? If you’re a desktop virtualization admin, it’s likely you struggle with one or more of these problems every day. Typically we deal with these problems symptomatically, but that leads to an even more complicated desktop and application management strategy.

FSLogix has a solution to those problems! In this session, FSLogix’s Product Marketing Manager, Gabe Knuth (formerly of BrianMadden.com) will explain how the platform works and what it can do for you. You’ll learn:

// How our suite of products reduces logon times and effectively eliminates profile corruption.

// How we simplify application management, letting you consolidate gold images and reduce application server silos.

// How we help you enable long-lost functionality like Windows Search and Outlook Cached Exchange Mode.

FSLogix solves these problems and more, all without additional backend infrastructure or virtualization. If you’re a desktop admin thinking about deploying Office 365 or experiencing issues with Outlook, application management, or profiles in your desktop virtualization environment, this session is for you!

0945 Martin Therkelsen – Using PowerShell and MDT with Azure and On-Prem to Deliver a Consistent Environment to both

By leveraging PowerShell and MDT you can deliver the same infrastructure in the cloud as you can in your own datacenter. In this session we will look at building a Citrix VDA in your on-prem XenServer environment and in the Azure public cloud. We will be using a custom PowerShell GUI for this, but also look into the code behind the scenes. With this technology you can either create a hybrid environment or a DR setup in a simplified way.

1030 Break

1040 eG Innovations – 5 Best Practices for Ensuring Post-Migration Citrix Performance

XenApp 6.5 is nearing EOL in June 2018! The move to the new XenApp & XenDesktop 7.x platform is not a simple in-place upgrade. It comprises of significant architecture, configuration and functionality changes. The success of the migration depends on delivering peak performing applications and desktops and exceptional user experience post-migration. Join this session by eG Innovations CEO, Srinivas Ramanathan, as he steps through five best practices to achieve stellar post-migration performance.

1100 Eduardo Molina – Delivering workspaces with Citrix Cloud + Nutanix + NVIDIA

In this session you will learn about Citrix Cloud architect and how it can leverage Nutanix on-premises resources with NVIDIA GRID accelerated VDI sessions to delivery great user experience for all your users.

1215 Automation Framework Community Edition

The free Automation Framework Community Edition was created to enable community members like yourself to get started with Automation without any pain points. Hundreds of hours has gone into development of the Framework to make sure that it’s 100% automated and works on any of the four major Hypervisors. While this course if focused on End User Computing (Citrix, VMware, Microsoft and Parallels) it’s not limited to only that and can easily be customization.

1235 Sam Jacobs – Build a XenApp Real-Time Session Monitor

Learn how to build a dashboard that can display and filter session and latency information for all the XenApp sessions in your farm. Using PowerShell and the XenApp SDK, Sam will show you how to build a Windows application to enumerate and filter the sessions using any combination of User ID, User Name, Server, State (Active/Disconnected) and Application. In addition, you can also sort on any column (alternating ascending/descending). While this is a session geared towards developers, no development experience is necessary.

1320 Break

1330 Liquidware – Upgrade your Citrix Environment to 7.16 and Windows 10/Server 2016 quickly with zero user downtime!

Upgrade your Citrix Environment to 7.16 and Windows 10/Server 2016 quickly with zero user downtime! Don’t you wish you could just update your base image OS and tell users to logon and all of their applications and user profiles would follow them? Unlike basic profile and app layering tools, Liquidware ProfileUnity with FlexApp is helping Citrix customers end the migration cycle for end users and lighten the load for Admins. See a demo of layered applications, user profiles, including the Office 365 cache, follow the user across OS versions with zero user downtime!

1350 Jake Walsh – 10 Quick Wins For Your Citrix Environment

I’ll be looking at 10 ways you can make a quick win for your Citrix Environment – covering off a range of different areas and tips. I’ll be giving practical demonstrations of these and showing how a few small changes can really add up to a big change, and one that makes life easier!

Presentation by Jeremy Moskowitz, PolicyPak CTO and Microsoft Group Policy & Management MVP.

1505 Mike Nelson – The Future of Infrastructure Management from Microsoft – Project Honolulu

Microsoft has a new management solution moving in and that solution is Project Honolulu. It will be the next generation of infrastructure and application management, and we need to be prepared for it. Honolulu will be able to manage key aspects of your environments, such as servers, clients, services, and even applications by using 3rd party extensions. Once the project is GA, you can be sure that there will be much more that has yet to be revealed. We will take a live look at how the product is installed and configured, along with some practical tips on using it effectively in various environments.
